Abstract

The Topp-Leone heavy-tailed type II exponentiated half logistic-G (TL-HT-TIIEHL-G) is the newly proposed family
of distributions (FoDs) introduced in this research. The study thoroughly investigates the statistical properties of
this FoDs, as well as its relevance in actuarial risk assessment. The estimation of the unknown model parameters is done using the method of maximum likelihood estimation, and the consistency of these estimates is assessed through the implementation of Monte Carlo simulations. Additionally, numerical simulations are conducted to analyze the risk measures associated with the TL-HT-TIIEHL-G FoDs. The Topp-Leone heavy-tailed type II exponentiated half logistic-Weibull (TL-HT-TIIEHL-W) distribution, a particular case of the TL-HT-TIIEHL-G FoDs is compared with other contending distributions including heavy-tailed distributions to evaluate its performance. The model’s capacity, adaptability, and practicality are convincingly showcased through its application to real data.

Broderick Oluyede, Botswana International University of Science and Technology

Broderick Oluyede is a former Director of the Statistical Consulting Unit (SCU) in Georgia
Southern University's Department of Mathematical Sciences in Statesboro, Georgia, USA. He
currently holds the position of Full Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Botswana
International University of Science and Technology (BIUST). He has over thirty years of
research and teaching experience at Bowling Green State University, Georgia State University,
University of Georgia, Oklahoma State University, Georgia Southern University, and BIUST.
Broderick Oluyede has authored and co-authored more than two hundred and sixty (260) research
papers. Multivariate, Order Restricted Inference, Stochastic Dependence, and Weighted
Distributions are some of his research interests. He serves on the editorial boards of several
journals.

Fastel Chipepa, Botswana International University of Science and Technology

Fastel Chipepa is a lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Statistical Sciences,
Faculty of Science, Botswana International University of Science and Technology. He has
authored and co-authored over fifty (50) research papers. His main areas of interest
include distribution theory, survival analysis, biostatistical methods, and biometry. He is
a member of two editorial boards: Annals of Immunology and Immunotherapy (AII) and International
Journal of Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research.
